What are the annual health costs to the American public directly related to smoking, alcohol, and obesity?

As we enter into a new political era where Liberal Democrats will be in control of our societal destiny, the subject of universal health care will come up again. In my opinion, the American taxpayer will pay and pay and pay for individuals leading unhealthy lives, choosing instead to abuse their bodies via smoking, alcohol, and overeating. The health related costs for such abuse must be staggering. In addition to coming up with a dollar amount, I am interested in learning what might be done - within reason - to curb the behaviors associated with such abuse. If we don't, we will bankrupt ourselves in financing universal health care.

Unknown, but I'm sure than someone has a study in the works %26amp; will be getting paid quite well to complete %26amp; compute the results. I noticed that you omitted drugs from your abuse list! Universal health care can only help if people use it. We need to educate people so that they won't need to be medicated, sedated, %26amp; pro-rated.
Reply:You answered one of my questions about leadership. Are you trying to say leadership has nothing to do with Law Enforcement? That is absurd comming from your back ground.
