Why do people sometimes get so upset about political cartoons?

I am an editorial cartoonist for Southern Utah University's student newspaper, I really enjoy my job, they basically pay me to have an opinion. It's also great because every once and a while some people get totally offended and all worked up about a cartoon I've illustrated. Why can't people just remember that first off all, it's only my opinion and second, most importantly -It's just a cartoon!!! Any thoughts anyone?

Why do people sometimes get so upset about political cartoons?
they fear the truths behind the lies
Reply:To me the word cartoon implies something funny.

Some political cartoons are funny and some are

not.

Kinda depends on which side of the fence we are

on. Generally people find cartoons favoring their

party (or not favoring the opposition party) to be

funny.

And they get their jaws torqued down if the cartoon

goes against their thought.

Human nature.
Reply:because people dont know how to take a f*cking joke
