Are Educational Speakers that visit schools and private functions paid for their services?

Or are these people that just enjoy what they do and speak as charity work at different places?

I have a passion for something and want to educate the public on it and would like to do it for a living. If you have any known places where more info on this can be found please let me know.

Yes
Reply:The majority of the time they are paid for it. Motivational speaking itself is a profession, but there are also lawyers, teachers, and other specialists who do presentations. It really depends on the topic, whether you are educating people on a particular topic or just motivating them to do something. My advice would be to look up the topic that you are passionate about, and see what other speakers are out there. Then you can see where they come from, what their profession is, etc. FYI, the lawyers I work for make $3500 to do a three hour presentation. Many times you can register your presentation to allow participants to gain needed credits for their profession. You should look into that too... then more people will be interested in taking the course. Good luck!
