Are recruiting agencies that charge job seekers any good?

What is the return on investment in paying hiring agencies like jobworld2020 to get me a job? I was contacted by two different agencies, probably got my resume off a online job board, asking me to cough up a couple of 100 dollars in exchange for multiple guaranteed interviews. It doesn't say anything about guaranteed job placement just that I'll get multiple interviews. Any opinions? Should I pay them?

Reputable employment and recruiting agencies are paid by the company looking for the employee. Any agency the asks for money from you is more or less scamming you.
Reply:Hi I tried everything to get interviews and finally used a resume service that charged. Hey it worked great!!! I will tell you what they told me, How can they or anyone promise a job?

I would have hung up if they said they could have! I Report Abuse

Reply:I don't know where you are, but i know that this is illegal in Australia where i am, that is probably because it is open to exploitation.

I'd say only pay them what you can afford to loose on a "worth a try" basis, but count on it not getting you anywhere, and be very careful about giving them bank details.

I would doubt that the contacts have even seen your resumae, i think a lot of them just send out SPAM to everyone hoping they'll catch a few people who happen to be job hunting.

Don't fall for another scam!!! These agencies are almost absolutely not good! I use to be a secretary for a temp agency that did temp, temp-to-hire, and direct hire. REAL job placement agencies NEVER ask for any money upfront.

And as the other guy said, companies pay temp agencies for the ppl they send to cover whatever needs covering. Companies pay good money to be suited with the right person and temp agencies NEVER ask a prospective employee to pay out of pocket for anything.

I strongly suggest putting in "Staffing Agency" and your zip code and then checking the website of one of the results. I'm signed up with 4 agency and get routine work. What kind of agency are u looking for? Try apple one, ACT ONE, manpower, ajialon, and there are tons of legit agencies.

Hope I helped you out. I'm just trying to return the favor. =)

Good LUCK!
