What is your opinion of Yahoo Answers compared to Google Answers?

Granted, Yahoo Answers is free; however, there are so many goofy questions and answers I don't think Yahoo Answers is considered a valid source for answers to real problems or questions.





At the same time, if you use Google Answers to obtain an answer to a serious question you have, people will know that you really are serious. This is due to the requirement that the asker be willing to pay for an answer. Depending upon how badly the asker wants a good/serious answer, the asker will offer more money for better answers.

What is your opinion of Yahoo Answers compared to Google Answers?

Reply:In my opinion, Yahoo! Answers is better in almost every way. The only thing really wrong with it is people who abuse it to chat, post nonsense answers or anything against community guidelines. Actually, that's a lot, but here are some ways in which Yahoo! Answers is better.





1. Y!A is free (obvious) (and you don't need a credit card).


2. Y!A has a much friendlier interface. Google Answers just looks ugly.


3. Y!A has a huge database of resolved questions which you can search through, whereas Google's is relatively tiny.


4. You can actually interact with other people that you meet through Y!A.


5. Y!A encourages user input.


6. If you answer a question well in Y!A, you at least get something to show for it. In Google Answers, non-researchers can answer a question but get absolutely nothing in return.


7. Google Answers researchers are trained to search the internet for answers. If it's something they aren't able to find, they can't provide you with an answer, but the huge user base on Y!A probably can.





And those are just the main points. So stay here or regret it later. :D
Reply:I have not tried Google answers. I see no reason to pay for an answer when this site is free. Sure, there are trolls who are just messing around, but we're working on it. If you want a serious, long-winded free answer, go to wikipedia. It's nonsense to pay for information like this!
