Whats the best paid IT position?

I want to fasttrack my way in IT and am unsure which path I would like to take. In your opinion whats the fastest/best paid way to go as a ratio. Would I be better off being a developer .net stuff of web design or networking etc. What are the best paid IT positions out there and if possible please can you tell me what to study to get there.

Many thanks in advance

Reply:I would start as a devloper in a highly paid field such as Investment Banking.

Any good scientific degree from a good University (say 2:1 in Maths from Warwick) would be enough to get a start. As another chap said, it is all changing so fast, what pays at the moment (say C#) may not be the best payer in the future, so you must keep up-to-date to remain marketable.

Not many people are in the field, making it highly rated and valuable to many organisations such as banks, government etc. Even MI5/Police/FBI etc

I would go to Uni and do a BSc (Hons) in general computing followed by a year for an MSc in Digital Forensics.

IT is more about experience than anything else. You will start low down in the industry, help desk etc, but you build up.

Take it nice and slowly, technology is changing too quickly and you will need to carefully review what IT is doing in life.
