What's your opinion on the man who doesn't think he should have to pay child support?

The Roe vs. Wade case, for men...is about a man who had VOLUNTARY, UNPROTECTED sex with his g/f, got her pregnant and claims that he didn't want children. Should he still have to help raise this kid, financially?

What's your opinion on the man who doesn't think he should have to pay child support?
I feel if a guy doesn't want kids he has no place even attempting sex. Despite whether protection is used or not, you shouldn't have sex if you don't want the responsibility of kids cause accidents do happen. By all means he should help in the financial aspect cause she didn't knock herself up. But I do think it's wrong for a mother to abort a baby if the father does want a kid, but the mother doesn't. It doesn't mean she can't turn the baby over to him. In a case like that I also feel she should be expected to pay to help raise the baby, cause once again it takes two people to make a baby.
Reply:He should want to pay child support if he is a really man. just because your not-together he should want to take care of the child. Men need to do what best for the child.
Reply:wanted children or not he should have to pay. he gambled by having unprotected sex with someone. he knew there was a chance the girl could get pregnant. why should a child suffer because a guy "who didn't want children" thought it would be OK to play russian roulette with their sperm.
Reply:This is why a commitment is so valuable between two people. The fact that the child was cheated of a family. But yes, the man still has to be responsible for his actions, regardless.
Reply:I feel that both sexual partners must take responsibility to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. even if the woman said she couldn't conceive or was on some form of birth control. The man has to assume resposibility for his actions too.If he wants to have control over his body ,then exercise self control. For too many years women were forced to have unwanted pregnancies or illegal abortions. Roe vs Wade gave women control over their bodies . Currently some states are reversing Roe vs Wade and making abortions illegal. If the woman has to carry an unwanted baby to full term then the man has to pay support.He should be held accountable for his actions too.In the past , men would say they were sterile rather than wear a condom.When the woman became pregnant the woman was berated for not using protection.
Reply:It doesn't matter if someone doesn't want children or if the woman says she was on birth control. We all have the responsibility of protecting ourselves instead of relying on others. I do think they should pay child support..man or woman. I also believe that if a parent REFUSES to let the other parent see their child and be part of that child's life, then they should not pay child support. Explain this to me though: My brother and his ex-wife have a 13 y/o son Cody. The agreement was that Cody lives with who he chooses as long as he's being taken care of. There are no scheduled visitations..if he wants to see his mom, he sees his mom. Cody chose to live at his dads house and stays with his mom maybe 8 or 9 days out of the month. My brother pays Cody's tuition for private school, pays for uniforms, pays for medical %26amp; dental, pays for all of his extracarricular activities. My brother pays for all of this stuff willingly and lovingly without complaint because that's his boy. He also has to pay that B*tch $180 week child support. It is not alimony...it is child support.
Reply:Well, if we're going to hold him to the standard of "Don't have sex unless you want to be responsible for a child." then I think we should hold women to the same standard also. That means outlawing abortions (except for rape, incest and mother's health). If he has to pay for a child for 18 years regardless of his wishes then she shouldn't have any choices either. Its a double standard to let women have options (abortion, adoption or keeping the baby) but men have to just sit and wait for the woman to decide.

Reply:Of course her should share the responsibility of raising the child. The way I see it if he didn't want children he should have worn a rain coat. Not to mention the fact that it takes two to TANGO!!!! What really kills me is the fact that most people feel that arguments and stress during the later month of a pregnancy doesn't affect the unborn! Just look around listen to the NEWS. Why do you thing the youth of today have gone way off the deep end? Just to think that after all the fun this individual had making this poor child he doesn't want to step up to the plate and take care of it is CRIMINAL! Pleople like this shouldn't be allowed to mate.
Reply:Try talking to the guy, as far as night wanting children, it is too late for that. There already is one. He should have thought about that before he had sex. He should help finiancially with this child if it is his. Weither or not he sees the child is up to you and him. If he does not want to, I would not push it. It will come through to the child that he does not want to be involved.
Reply:I think there are women out there that try to trap men by getting pregnant by them.


Should a woman who lies about being on the pill and gets pregnant recieve child support from the man who thought he was protected when he had sex with her? I don't know. I think more men should have custody of their children and more women should have to pay child support.


It really isn't fair to men to have to pay a substantial amount of their income to these women...


How about more "shared custody" arrangements where no child support is paid to either parent, just both parents split the bills directly related to the child like clothes and medical care?
Reply:I believe he should NOT have to pay. Why should he if he doesnt want a child. HE didnt get pregnant. and a woman should be responsible enough to know who she is sleeping with. ANY PARTNER has the potential to be a father-- shouldnt she make sure that the person she is with actually might not want a child??





Women are just outright selfish. a baby means child support
